The president of Congo, Denis Sassou Nguesso who has been in the presidency office for 36 years and is currently the oldest candidate for the March 21st elections, visits the Plateaux regions before elections.
As the presidential elections approach in Congo, current President Denis took the weekend to visit the Plateaux regions to launch the Djambala-Lekana power line, which will be very useful in the villages where access to electricity can go as low as less that 10%.
With Denis Sassou Nguesso being a leader that has served for a long period of time, in 2015 the country voted for a new law that stated that the country can no longer be led by a leader older than the age of 70 years old. This did not help President Denis to resign but paved the way for him to serve another third term in the year 2016.
