On Wednesday night, the U.S Senate voted to cancel President’s Joe Biden’s implemented vaccine mandate for private businesses.

The votes were 52-48 in support of the cancellation of the mandate. The tool used to cancel the mandate is called the “Congressional Review Act” which has the ability to reverse rules created by federal agencies. requiring a minimum of 51 votes to pass the Senate.

Joe Manchin who has been against the vaccine mandate policy from the beginning said in a statement last week, “I  will strongly support a bill to overturn the federal government vaccine mandate for private businesses. I have long said we should incentivize, not penalize, private employers whose responsibility it is to protect their employees from COVID-19.”
