In an offer to increase employment and equality in South Africa, President Cyril Ramaphosa may announce that jobs in some sectors will be kept for South African citizens during his ‘State of The Nation Address’ (SONA) this week.
This is one of the proposals on which the cabinet is expected to decide this week, ahead of the address, which Ramaphosa will present to parliament on Thursday evening.
This comes after the Department of Labour and Employment raised concern about illegal recruitment practices in South Africa. It plans to announce new rules for foreign workers soon.
