More South Africans are losing their faith in Democracy

As the African National Congress (ANC) tightens the screws on its step-down resolution, some of those affected regard it as a rejection by the current leadership, prompting some to band together with those opposed to party president Cyril Ramaphosa and his allies.

While ANC continues with factions, many South Africans are feeling disempowered and acting outside of democratic processes, as evidenced by violent protests, vigilantism, and widespread looting across the country. People’s faith in democracy is dwindling.
