Nigerian 2023 Elections: Bola Tinubu named winner of Nigeria’s disputed election

Nigeria’s Ruling party candidate Bola Tinubu has been declared the winner of Nigeria’s disputed presidential election in the early hours of this morning. And he has, maybe unsurprisingly, been defending the integrity of poll.

According to the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, Tinubu won 8.79 million votes in the weekend election. Main opposition challenger Atiku Abubakar was tallied at 6.98 million votes. Peter Obi, was on 6.1 million.

Both Abubakar’s PDP and Obi’s Labor Party have rejected the outcome.”Heavily doctored and manipulated” is how they described the results being declared at the National Collation center. Our chief correspondent Yvonne Katsande is on the ground bringing us the latest updates.
